Here is my student, Andrew. Having just turned 13 last month, he is just going through the voice change, and is accessing the tenor range quite well in a very difficult song, not to mention playing guitar better than most professionals over twice his age, in front of a packed house at the world famous Coach House in Orange County:

This is impressive. I have heard some of the very famous young pop singers live (going to concerts with my daughter) and when there is not the advantage of the auto-tuning in the recording studio, they often sing off-key in their concerts, and their voices seem small, weak, and overwhelmed by the loudness of the amplified band instruments.
Your student seems to hold his own and stay on key and is off to a great start. I wish him lots of luck.
Yes, Andrew seems to be born to be a rock star!
