Brian Silver sings “If I Sing”

Brian Silver won 1st place in Stars of Tomorrow Musical Theater competition with this performance.  He was 17 years old at the time. He pulls his chest at the end, but overall this is a fine performance from a high school senior!

Silver Magic

What does it take to make it in the entertainment industry? Specifically, what does it take to get your first SAG contract in a major motion picture? It takes endless dedication, large quantities of auditions, hundreds of rejections, blood, sweat, tears and determination. That’s what it takes unless, of course, you are my student Brian Silver.

Brian, having recently turned 18, graduated from Tesoro High School this year, and was accepted into the prestigious theater department at Tulane University in Louisiana. Just weeks into his first semester at Tulane, Brian went on his very first professional audition. The audition was for a major motion picture musical by Universal, called “Pitch Perfect.” When Brian sang, the director liked what he heard and wanted to hear more. Brian was awarded a SAG contract on the spot and, unfortunately for Tulane, he had to postpone his college aspirations in order to begin his very grueling rehearsal schedule. Everyone always knew Brian was talented and headed for great things, but now we know that he is headed there today. We will all be keeping our eyes peeled for Brian’s film debut this Summer in theaters everywhere. Whatever Brian’s next project after Pith Perfect is, I am betting it will be big and impressive.
